Dr. Brian A. Thompson is an award-winning Professor of Strategy & Decision-Making and a deeply experienced entrepreneur. In academia, he uses a multidisciplinary approach to tackle opportunities where economic thinking can be used to make our decision-making and interactions with others acutely more transparent, and useful in reaching our goals and objectives. Leveraging his expertise in strategic thinking, he has worked with individuals, small and large corporations, nonprofits, and educational institutions to improve results and optimize learning opportunities across an array of environments. Prior to academia, he co-founded a multi-location martial arts school and promotions company, led a family property management business, and founded an investment advisory firm.
Today, he continues to bridge the gap between academic and practitioner to elevate students in the classroom and continue growing his diverse following of audiences in training and keynote presentations.
Dr. Thompson uniquely uses his practical experience and natural gifts in communication skills to reach people in an accessible and desired way. He is a sought out corporate trainer and keynote speaker for local and regional events, as well as national conferences. A strong advocate for education, he received his Doctor of Business Administration and MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, his Master of Science in Finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology, his BA in Business Administration from Governors State University in University Park, IL, and his AA from Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL
